You're right--animals don't have feelings.
These men rescued Christian when he was a cub, then hand-raised him before he was returned to the wild. After a year, they met again. This is their reunion.

Thats the sweetest thing :-)
Gosh , this warms my heart.
Just awesome. Its just so sad that we humans have gotten so far away from our origins and nature.
Its as if in the last 300 years we have totally forgotten the previous 2 million.........
Whats wrong with us that we find this strange and frightening, instead of normal?
For some reason, I kept expecting the lion to bite and tear off the head of the one guy there at any moment.... my heart was not beating save for the first few moments. When the lion charged (ran to the guys) I thought, wow these guys are dead...
Not a surprising reaction, really. I agree that this video is a wonderful testament to animal cognizance, but these animals are still, at best, our rivals, and at worst, our predators. I think what speaks most loudly isn't the reaction of the male, whom they raised as a cub, but that of the female, who seems to intuit from the male that these humans are equals and to be treated as such. Animals don't have feelings, indeed. :)
In the early 90's, there were estimated to be 100,000 lions in the wild. Since then, that number has dropped by over 70,000-- primarily due to human interaction.
Since the current human population is 6.6 billion, I think it's safe to say that lions can't accurately be described as "rivals" and "predators".
That's really sweet..
But how he managed to hold that lion on his shoulders, I know not.
awwww that is soo cute!!!
If anyone has a dog that likes to greet them when they come home, then they'll recognize it.
My dog does that to me every time I come home from a long trip.
Makes you realize that lions are not "vicious" as some people say they are.
And neither are other wild animals. You just have to know how to treat them.
I knew they did...it just had to be proved!
omgg this is so cute.
im soo jealous. :D
Oh wow, that is so sweet! I agree with the poster who was touched by the female's reaction - I had the same thought. She had no problem approaching the reunion and even being petted by the men; she clearly knew from Christian's behavior that these guys were trustworthy.
You can't ever trust wild cats (large or small) completely. They can be very sweet, but if they decide to bite a chunk off you they will.
Awww that's simply adorable! As a dog-person, yeah, very recognizable. So sweet! I would still be worried about rough play with a cat that big, but aww...
that's great, I particularly like the fact that the female seems to have been told/intuitively knows/whatever not to harm the men too. as for dogs, i've had dogs I've known well do something similar as well.
Awww.. that is the cutest thing.. See? Animals never forget!
How great! And what a wonderful feeling and experience that must've been for the people involved. It might look like the lion is being really rough with them, but I've noticed even with big dogs they can easily forget how big they really are. And I noticed too how amazing it is that the female obviously understood that these people were good from the male :)
lol the lion didnt like the dark haired guy as much as the blonde guy.
beautiful, beautiful.
I was scared for a second, I thought the title was sarcastic. I thought that the lion was about to fuck his shit.
Personally...I believe that animals do have feelings...That made me smile :)

OMG I thought the title of this video was supposed to be sarcastic, as in the entire video I was waiting for the lion to tear one of the guy's throats out. Whew....
yes this proves that animals don't feel anything they are just soulless bags of flesh and bone. obviously no emotion there
So, one incident is proof?
That is sweet and all but that doesn't "prove" anything.
And let's not forget the bear that just ripped out it's trainer's throat.
Todd, I'm not quite sure what your point is. Are you denying that animals have feelings?
One would assume that a bear attacking someone is feeling anger, or fear. Last time I checked, those are feelings too.
to everyone that says you can never trust a wild animal completely...you can't ever trust anyone completely, so whats the big deal
this is so sweet
That is so lovely; just pure joy! There is no doubt that animals can, and do LOVE.
I got a tear in my eye. Response to third comment down: huh? 2 million years ago we were snacks for saber tooth tigers. I'd say we are closer to animals now that civilization has domesticated them. IMHO
For all you nay sayers, this is not an isolated incedent. And neither is the bear attack. Did you not read? The bear attacked it's TRAINER. Most trainers use fear as tool. The outcome is always predictable. The animal has enough and attacks. This lion was treated with love and remembers that. All animals will be more receptive to love and kindness, rather than cruelty. A lesson for todays parents!
This is truly adorable! I have always believed animals to be more passionate [and intelligent for that matter] than any humans. This just goes to prove that XD Humans have the unablity [or are not willing] to fight their instincts, even for the ones they love. This lion must have fought so many instincts in order to react this way! Sooooo cute! Truly made my day!
This just made my weekend.
Made my day =]
this is so sweet. made my day <3
this makes me so happy. the expressions on the guys' faces are unforgettable. this is love.
So cute :)
this is the most heart-warming thing!
my cat does this too. i mean, she's definitely not that big, but every day when i come home she jumps on the porch railing and meows and rubs against me til i pet her.
i seriously thought that guy was dead for the first 2 seconds of that video, though.
why are we forget the eternal and a strange natural relation all living beings have? well we know that who are better predators- humans or lions..
that video is so cool! It made my mom cry and the music is just perfect. And Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii will always love youooooooooooooooouooooooooouooooo I will always love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
If you're hearing music, there may be something physiologically wrong.
What a lovely video !
Just animals to teach us what love and care really is.
i am on both sides of the fence. i think it is sweet and i also think wild animals are to be treated like they are wild. i am humbled by the fact that this lion was able to remember the two guys and even introduce his lady-friend. i agree with the dog-people that a pack animal will always remember its pack. unfortunately, we compete with lions and they SHOULD not like us for that. i think that all animals should be afraid of humans and when they are not, it is a detriment to their species. hence why department stores no longer sell lions.
I agree with air, this is a great example of what can happen in certain circumstances. It's obvious that the lion has remembered the rescue, and the love, that these two guys gave him. But... the lion is a wild animal, and should be left wild. Not that this incident has anything to do with that, really, as it's a rare rescue situation.
Wild animals are viscious, it's their nature and how they survive.
Animals are the best even in the wild they memory of care and love stays with them. what a wonderful feeling they must have had. I am sure they were afraid at first and then felt so much happiness and warmth. Like the lion knew his limits.
